UK Training & Verification

Proficient Deer Stalking (PDS) Assessment, Training & Verification

Venator.uk provides professional Proficient Deer Stalking (PDS) assessment, training and verification services for individuals at all stages of their deer stalking journey.

PDS supports those new to deer stalking as well as experienced stalkers seeking formal recognition of competence.

How do I get certified in deer stalking in the UK?

Supported Progression Towards PDS2

For candidates preparing for PDS Level 2, we offer structured, accompanied stalking and mentoring.

This allows individuals to:

  • Gain practical experience alongside a professional

  • Develop safe, responsible fieldcraft and decision-making

  • Build confidence before attempting formal assessment

This is particularly suitable for those who have not previously stalked independently or who wish to consolidate their experience before PDS2 assessment.

Professional, Standards-Based Assessment

All assessments are conducted in the British countryside and follow the relevant PDS assessment criteria.

Our role is to provide clear, objective assessment and verification, supported where appropriate by preparatory mentoring — not informal or recreational stalking.

Additional Verification

Where appropriate, we also offer DSC Level 2 verification for candidates who meet the required criteria.
